MEet the

Snyder family

Our Story

David and Andrea Snyder opened the original Urban Cookhouse
in Homewood, AL in 2010. They live in Homewood with their two daughters, Ruby and Dylan, and are honored to have the opportunity to serve their community through the  blessing of Urban Cookhouse.

Urban Cookhouse was inspired by family. From PawPaw Snyder who taught our founder how to carefully smoke meats over hickory wood and charcoal and grow farm fresh vegetables, to the Tomaino Family that came to America to start a new life.  Family is the “why” behind Urban Cookhouse. Sherry Snyder, our founder’s mother, was most
at home in the kitchen modeling made-from-scratch cooking to her sons. The family farms that provide the fresh ingredients are another vital piece of our family tree that make Urban Cookhouse feel like home to our customers within the communities we serve.

Our mission is to feed our communities with delicious, made-from-scratch food with an emphasis on supporting local farms, cooking over hickory wood and charcoal on the Big Green Egg, and providing impeccable service.
